A
solid foundation...
Any
high school students with an interest
in being creative and/or writing creatively
can absolutely benefit from this screenwriting
workshop. David catches students'
attention from the very beginning with
his great sense of humor and well paced
material, and he keeps students on their
toes throughout the workshop. Students
have a chance to brainstorm and get creative,
while also getting a solid foundation
on how to create a well-written screenplay.
More
than worth the time and money...
In
order to attend, my students were asked
to pay $15 each.... After the workshop,
I asked each student how they felt about
that --if they felt it was worthwhile
and if they would want to pay $15 again
next year to attend the same workshop.
EACH and EVERY student said it
was a great workshop, that they learned
a lot, and that they would want to attend
again next year. A few of them said
it was more than worth the time and money
and that they were really excited to start
creating their own screenplay.
Extremely
fun and valuable...
As
an educator, I was impressed with how
well David handled 130 high school students.
His quick comedic wit and genuine
interest in helping students become good
screenwriters made for an extremely fun
and valuable workshop. |

"I
really enjoyed it!"
"I
learned a lot."
"That
really helped me understand character
development"
"This
workshop changed the way I view movies!"
These
were some of the comments from my students
after they attended the How
to Write Movies for Hollywood
to study the fundamentals of screenwriting
with David T. Adams. The students
ranged from highly capable to special
needs, and ALL
of them stayed tuned-in, and they expressed
a desire to learn more.
Appeals
to all...
David
T. Adams has a teaching style that appeals
to all. As a teacher with 31 years
of experience, I highly recommend this
workshop to everyone, regardless of
age or ability. Every last one
of my students really enjoyed the day.
Thanks!

Practical
knowledge...
My
students came away from this workshop
with some really practical knowledge about
screenwriting. The instructor was
very interactive, engaging, and entertaining.
Bring
in an expert...
As
a teacher of media production, I feel
my students are already learning the technical
and aesthetic video production skills,
but it was really great to bring in an
expert on story development and characterization.
Came
away excited about writing...
My
class came away from the workshop excited
about writing... and that's something
I haven't seen before. Many of them
will be participating in a student film
festival in a couple of weeks, and will
be well-prepared after having had this
workshop. |

Positive
and upbeat...
The
response to the How to Write Movies
for Hollywood workshop was positive
and upbeat. There was an initial
concern about having to sit all day in
a workshop, but the presenter delivered
the content in an interesting and applicable
fashion. The students were very
engaged.
Easily
within their reach...
The
task of writing a screenplay was broken
down into manageable steps to avoid overwhelming
the students. The students left
the workshop that day, encouraged by the
realization that a screenplay is easily
within their reach. |

The
best workshop we've ever attended...
Everyone
agreed that this was the best workshop
we've ever attended, and that includes
me. I've been teaching scriptwriting
for film, television and video for several
years, but I have never presented it
this way!
Practical
and organized...
David
Adams was fresh, exciting, and very
knowledgeable. His information
is practical and organized in such a
way that each of us came away with the
confidence that we can write much more
compelling scripts.
Thanks,
David! Count on us to attend any
other workshops you present.

"I
have not seen my son so excited about
anything... EVER!"
The
kids really enjoyed the How
to Write Movies for Hollywood
presentation.
I had a mother tell me at Parent Conferences,
the next night, that her son came home
very excited. To quote her, "I
have not seen my son so excited about
anything... EVER!"
This
certainly got my students pumped up.
Thank you for doing this workshop!

Thanks,
Indie Film Group!
How
to Write Movies for Hollywood
was excellent! It provided us with
the information we were missing.
Students are very excited about being
able to create quality scripts for their
photography club films.
The
first thing they did was go back over
their old scripts to improve them using
the knowledge they gained at the workshop.
They feel they now know how to more effectively
draw their audience into the story and
build to the big climax. |

The
Indie Film Group has become a hero among
our students...
In
one day, our aspiring actors, filmmakers,
and screenwriters learned the essence
of the dramatic arts. Kids have
raved ever since about how their respective
projects are coming along.
In
our recent school play, one of the leads
said the IFG's teaching on positive and
negative tension reinvented her role.
For weeks now, all the kids have gathered
in community to share ideas about the
screenplays and films they will someday
make.
Schools
should jump at the chance...
In
five hours, David T. Adams set in motion
a lifetime of aspiration. His charisma
and passion for his work is absolutely
contagious. Schools should jump
at the chance to have him; he makes for
a great alternative to grammar, research,
and academic writing. |

A
wider perspective...
How
to Write Movies for Hollywood
was particularly valuable for two reasons:
First, it reinforced some of the basics
of screenwriting I was covering in class.
Second, it gave a wider perspective (and
hope) of how this skill could be used
in the future.
Oh!
Also, it was amusing! |

It
was exciting to see students engaged...
Coming
from a high school that is committed
to literacy, it was exciting to see
students engaged in a screenwriting
workshop.
Many
of my students have never thought about
writing for movies (let alone, writing
for fun), but after the workshop, I
heard a lot of them talking about the
movie they started writing! And
while the focus was on writing, many
of my acting students confirmed methods
and ideas they had learned in acting
class.
Detailed,
well prepared, and thought-provoking...
This
was a great opportunity for our school,
and I am so glad to have participated.
How to Write Movies for Hollywood
was detailed, well prepared and thought-provoking.

If
you're asked to host How to Write Movies
for Hollywood... say YES!
You
will have no worries. The instructor,
David Adams is top-notch. His
material is well-organized and his presentation
is captivating. My students were
enthralled the entire day and energized
the next.
In
depth in only a few hours...
Within
my Broadcasting/Television Production
program's curriculum, I am only able
to scrape the surface of the subject
"Screenwriting". Mr.
Adams was able to take the students
in depth in only a few hours.
How
to Write Movies for Hollywood
is definitely worth the time and money.
